The Japanese title "Izayoi" means the sixteenth night of the lunar month or sometimes to refers to the moon on that night. This Japanese word is said to have originated from words such as "tamerau (to hesitate)" and "chu-cho (demur)". The moonrise on the sixteenth night is slightly later than that of the fifteenth night.

What does tamerai really mean? Is it passivity, uncertainty, insufficiency, or longing? Perhaps it reflects modesty and elegance. One of the seven flowers of autumn is thoroughwort, sometimes called "tamerai" since it blossoms little by little in small flowers, savoring their beauty.

Everything from music, stories, and ultimately lives resolve post factum. Life's reflection brings desire and longing for the past. Some create a utopia in their past. The relationship between the present and the past is like sunlight and moonlight. The sunlight depicts a bright future and gloomy moonlight calmly shades the regrets of our past.

Envelop one or two or your memories with the reticence portrayed in the music. This will capture the meaning of the work.
