This work was commissioned by Hoi-Koh Low Brass from Tokyo and completed in December, 1999. It consists of three parts, Allegro molto, Moderato, and Allegro molto. There is a clear contrast between the expressive dynamic drive of the two framing movements and the romantic Moderato. An additional feature, the monophony is divided and accentuated by the use of bell tones. The piece doesn't require advanced technique, and it can be enjoyed by a wide range of musicians.
